In October of 2019, I was lucky enough to be able to visit Vietnam for two weeks. One of my Irish friends/roommates from when I lived in Galway, Christina, had been teaching English in Hai Phong for the past year. She was only planning on staying for another three months, so I knew this was my chance to get in a visit and experience a new country with someone who knew the ins and outs. The timing also coincided with a motorbike trip Christina had planned with a couple of her other teacher friends and they were kind enough to let me crash their plans!
The video below is a souvenir of our trip and every time I watch it I feel transported back to the magic that was Vietnam – I can’t wait to return in real life!
